Arp Ranch Barn 12x9

This old barn is across the road from my mom's house. It's very old and falling down. I'd like to do some more paintings of it before it ceases to exist entirely.

smoky bluff 12x9

I'm not sure when this smoke is going to clear up. Things have been burning for about a week now. Every day the sun is obscured by dense gray smoke. I figured I might as well get out and document it.

Clint #2 10x8

Another smoky day today. I went up to my classroom in Auburn and it was even worse. There were som great atmospheric effects caused by all the smoke but it was hust too uncomfortable to paint outside. There are over 800 fires burning in Northern California right now. Luckily, my son Clint was a willing model for me this evening.

It was about 104 today. Painting at night has a lot going for it compared to this heat.

It's about little over a mile to hike in to the old Cool limestone quarry. It was pretty hot today but worth the long walk.

water slide #2 10x8

Last weekend I donated the earlier water slide painting to the KVIE art auction. It's actually a fairly prestigious local juried show. The ladies who were checking the art in seemed to like the painting and they were very nice. I hope I get in. Of course the day after donating the painting I got an email from someone who wanted to buy it so I went ahead and did another. This one is a slightly different view and was painted earlier in the day.

silo #4 10x8

I've painted this silo before. It's a major feature when looking across the water from Miller Park. This one is a little larger than my previous paintings done of this landmark.

Kyle 9x7

Kyle has been after me to paint a picture of him for a couple of months now. We were finally able to get our schedules to mesh. He like it. He said he was trying to look as if he were gazing toward the future when he will be a wealthy man.
